Family Focus 2008
Welcome to Northern B.C.,
Our committee is pleased to introduce the 2008 B.C. Family Focus
Conference, “LEAN ON ME”.
The Family Focus Society enjoys a 21 year tradition of organizing
conferences for families, by families.
We welcome you, whether you have a disability, are a family
member, caregiver, or friend of someone who does, or are a professional
working in the field of disability, to come and share the experience, to
learn and celebrate coming together and supporting one another.
“Lean on Me” means together we are stronger and no one needs to
do it all alone.
The “Lean on Me” Conference would not be possible if it weren’t for the
fabulous support of our co-hosts AiMHi – the Prince George Association
for Community Living and the generous financial sponsorship from Variety
Club – The Children’s Charity, the Ministry of Children and Families,
and Community Living B.C.
As a board of directors we have worked hard to fund raise for this
conference so we could keep the costs to families and individuals
attending as low as possible.
We are extremely grateful to every one of our sponsors for their
contribution to our conference ensuring its great success.

Our 3-day conference is meant to provide you with new information, new
ideas and to strengthen the belief that by leaning on each other, by helping
and supporting one another, we will be stronger and more resilient and
be better able to advocate for ourselves and each other.
With the wide selection of sessions being offered there is bound
to be something of interest for everyone.
